Ms. McCormick is Of Counsel to the law firm of Utrecht and Phillips, PLLC. She practices in the area of federal and state campaign finance law, IRS regulation of political activity under Section 527, regulation of state ballot measure activity, and federal and state lobbying laws.  Her practice includes labor organizations, non-profits, corporations, and other membership organizations.  Ms. McCormick holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (B.A. 1969) and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, cum laude.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McCormick served as counsel to the National Education Association’s Campaigns and Elections Department for 6 years and before that as Associate General Counsel to the AFL-CIO for 17 years.  From 1979 to 1981, Ms. McCormick served in the White House as Deputy Counsel to Vice President Walter Mondale.  She has represented clients before the Federal Election Commission and state election boards.  Ms. McCormick began her career at the Federal Election Commission where she served as Executive Assistant to Federal Election Commissioner Thomas E. Harris from 1977-1979.         

Ms. McCormick is admitted into practice in the District of Columbia.
